About me

Tuula Cox, aka Esther Punny, is an artist working with the mediums of dance, visual art, textile art, music, video, and writing. Based in New York but originally from Vantaa, she focuses strongly on collaboration with her family members. Her art often discusses themes such as fairy tales, intergenerational relationships, family, memories, and the bonds between humanity, nature, and animals. She considers art to be the best way to promote community, and strives to blur the boundaries between art making and the rest of everyday life by organizing multidisciplinary events and including both professional and lay artists in her collaborative projects.

Tuula is the co-founder of Kapybara The Art Collective and publishing house Kapybara-kustannus, founder and artistic director of Capricious Dance Company of Narnia, and the other member of electronic music duo Elias & Esther. When she is not making art, she works as a communications expert in sustainable digital services.
