Kapybara The Art Collective
Kapybara The Art Collective was founded in 2016 when artist Heidi Wikström started making short films together with her daughter, dancer Tuula Cox. Since then, Tuula’s brother and Heidi’s son, musician Tuukka Turunen has also joined the collective. The collective also occasionally collaborates with guest artists, such as Tuula’s husband Byron Cox.

What we do
Since 2016, we have created over 60 short films filmed in numerous locations all around the world. While our topics vary, our themes revolve around what interests us: fairy tales, memories, family, and intergenerational relationships. Many of our films feature dance in its many forms.
While we started with making short films, we have since grown into a multidisciplinary arts organization, partnering with artists both in Finland and abroad. Our past work includes multiple art exhibitions, video screenings, music videos, and visuals for a dance production.
