Heidi Wikström

About me

Heidi Wikström has studied fine arts and medicine, held art exhibitions, and done research. She works as a surgeon. As a child, she made a conscious decision to maintain a connection with her childhood self, and she has tried to follow this decision as best she can. Her works of visual art often contain fairy tale elements and child-like whimsy. In her opinion, fairy tales and poems are the best way to describe reality in words – as much as reality can be comprehended at all, or its existence verified.

Heidi is the co-founder of Kapybara the art collective and publishing house Kapybara-kustannus.
